W roku 1947 powrócił do Polski, gdzie został przez władze stalinowskie oskarżony o zdradę i skazany na karę śmierci, po czym wyrok zamieniono na dożywocie. Został zrehabilitowany w 1956. Developed by the Mikoyandesign bureau as an air superiority fighter during the 1970s, the MiG-29, along with the larger Sukhoi Su-27, was developed to counter new American fighters such as the McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle, and the General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon. While originally oriented towards combat against any enemy aircraft, many MiG-29s have been furnished as multirole fighters capable of performing a number of different operations, and are commonly outfitted to use a range of air-to-surface armaments and precision munitions. The MiG-29 has been manufactured in several major variants, including the multirole Mikoyan MiG-29M and the navalised Mikoyan MiG-29K; the most advanced member of the family to date is the Mikoyan MiG-35. Later models frequently feature improved engines, glass cockpits with HOTAS-compatible flight controls, modern radar and IRST sensors, and considerably increased fuel capacity; some aircraft have also been equipped for aerial refuelling.
Following the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the militaries of a number of former Soviet republics have continued to operate the MiG-29, the largest of which is the Russian Air Force. The Russian Air Force wanted to upgrade its existing fleet to the modernised MiG-29SMT configuration, but financial difficulties have limited deliveries. The MiG-29 has also been a popular export aircraft; more than 30 nations either operate or have operated the aircraft to date, India being one of the largest export operators of the type. "Ez majdnem olyan jó, mint én vagyok" mondta, amikor kikászálódott az ülésből. A ROVKI-ban a pilótákat sem kellett félteni. Elhatározták, hogy Géza nem csak őket tudja megnevettetni sorozatos előadásain, "humorban mi sem vagyunk rosszabbak", és kitervelték, hogyan fogják megtréfálni. A műtőből szereztek zöld műtősköpenyt, műtős sapkát, szájmaszkot és egy beteghordó kocsit. Az egyik éjszaka (!) rárontottak nagy dérrel-dúrral a Gézára! Ébresztő művészkém! Ébresztő! Rosszat mutat a műszer, azonnal megyünk a műtőbe! (Gézán is Holter monitor volt). A halálsápadt "művészkémet" rászíjazták a beteghordó kocsira, közben a ROVKI orvosoktól eltanult halandzsát mormolták: "gyerünk, gyorsan, nagyon laposak a T hullámok" és rohantak a halálra vált Gézával a folyosón. Igen ám, de a ROVKI-ban nincs lift, így amikor a lépcsőhöz értek, már nem bírták tovább és felnevettek. Géza csak akkor vette észre, hogy átverték. Így hát az éjszakát vidáman töltötték, és másnap a barokamrában nem is bánták, hogy a kialvatlanságtól kissé sápadtabbak.

A formális belső vizsgálat mellett egy informális nyomozás is zajlik a Honvédelmi Minisztériumban: azt keresik nagy erőkkel, hogy ki szivárogtatta ki a hírt arról, hogy a kecskeméti reptéren tárolt MiG-ekből fontos alkatrészeket loptak el. A HM saját szabályzata szerint a reptér biztonságáért a közigazgatási államtitkár felelős legfelsőbb szinten.

- Ez nem ezermester szint. Annál jóval komolyabb.

- Milyen alkatrészt, részegységet-ket szereltek ki eltulajdonítás képen?
- Milyen árulkodó nyomokat hagytak az elkövetők?
- Kikerülhettek e az alkatrészek az országból?
- A Tiszás volt vezérkarfőnök (Dr. (ph.D.) Ruszin Szendy Romolusz altábornagy ne kritizáljon, mert az Ő regnálása alatt sem volt jobb az őrzés.védelem helyzete. (Akkoriban sem volt letakarva a kerítés, hogy ne lehessen kívűlről belátni.) Azért most történt ez az eset mert mostanra jött el az ideje.
- A feltáró vizsgálat sikere érdekében, majd figyelni szükséges a repüléssel foglalkozó hazai és külföldia szaklapokat/oldalakat.

Gyula Vári (born Nagykőrös, 6 May 1967) is a Hungarian flying officer and politician. He is a former parliamentary representative and observer in the European Parliament.
Military career:
After graduating at the Košice College, he spent a year in Szolnok where he participated in weapons training. In 1991 he moved to Kecskemét Air Base to the first flying squadron. He flew MiG-21s (F, MF and UM specs), and in 1993 after training in Russia, he flew MiG-29s (U's and UB's). In 1994 he took part in the TLP (Tactical Leadership Program) in Belgium. In 1995 he studied at the Squadron Officer School at Maxwell Air Force Base in the United States. In 1996 he became a demo pilot for the Hungarian Air Force. From 1997 on he regularly performed at military demonstrations and he obtained his Private and Commercial Pilot Licences.
From 1998 he took part in international competitions. In 1998, 1999 and 2001 he won the As the Crow Flies Trophy at the Royal International Air Tattoo. In 1999 he took home the Solo Jet Aerobatic Trophy. In 2001 he won the Lockheed Martin Cannestra Trophy. What is the HGU4/P Military Aviator?
We wanted to make a difference. Leave a mark. Be proud of something.
So in 1978, we joined forces with the U.S. military to produce the HGU-4/P Aviator for fighter pilots. Each Aviator is still built to the strict guidelines of MIL-S-25948J standards, a 20-page document detailing the most demanding, complex manufacturing specs around. The HGU4/P was officially recommended by army optometrists in November, 1958.
The HGU4/P Aviator sunglass design was adopted because it worked better with newer helmet designs, which had undergone major developments in the 1950s. Flight helmets were now being made with plastics, and equipped with communication equipment and oxygen masks. These helmets required a sleeker sunglasses design that could fit under the new wind blast visors with the additional equipment.
The HGU4/P is still the standard aviator sunglass specification that Randolph Engineering is under contract to produce for the U.S. Military. Randolph recently renewed their contract with the U.S. military to continue producing the HGU4/P for another five years.

Hu. text: 2005. május 11-én kecskeméti repülőtér mellett a 02-es oldalszámú MiG–29B jobb oldali hajtóművének műszaki meghibásodása miatt lezuhant. A pilóta, Szabó „Topi” Zoltán Róbert százados, aki a 2005-ös Kecskeméti Nemzetközi Repülőnap műrepülő programjára gyakorolt, sérülések nélkül katapultált az égő gépből. A gép a bal oldali RD–33-as hajtómű hibája miatt gyulladt ki és semmisült meg. A garanciális hibákat végül elismerő orosz fél egy kétüléses UB-t nagyjavított.

Kvochur was involved in an air show accident on 8 June 1989 at the Paris Air Show. He was flying a single-seater Mikoyan MiG-29 Fulcrum 'Blue 303', the Soviet Union's latest fighter aircraft. While executing a low-speed, high-angle attack portion of his routine, a bird was sucked into the right engine (a bird strike), causing the turbofan engine to burst into flames.
Kvochur immediately turned the remaining engine to full afterburner. His speed, at 180 kilometres per hour (110 mph), was too slow to maintain stability on one engine, and the aircraft entered a steep dive. Kvochur managed to steer the MiG away from the crowd and ejected 2.5 seconds before impact. He landed 30 metres (98 ft) away from the fireball of the crashed plane.
The incident was caught on video and is featured on the reality television series World's Most Amazing Videos and reused in the pseudo-documentary World War III.
Kvochur's Mig-29 had a Zvezda K-36D ejection seat. The same ejection seat helped save the lives of the pilots of two MiG-29s that collided mid-air at the Royal International Air Tattoo in July 1993, and the pilot and navigator of a Sukhoi Su-30 that crashed from a tail-strike at the Paris Air Show in June 1999, which was also captured on video.

Wiki: The N019 radar was not a new design, but rather a development of the Sapfir-23ML architecture used on the MiG-23ML. During the initial design specification period in the mid-1970s, Phazotron NIIR was tasked with producing a modern radar for the MiG-29. To speed development, Phazotron based its new design on work undertaken by NPO Istok on the experimental "Soyuz" radar program. Accordingly, the N019 was originally intended to have a flat planar array antenna and full digital signal processing, for a detection and tracking range of at least 100 km (62 mi) against a fighter-sized target. Prototype testing revealed this could not be attained in the required timeframe and still fit within the MiG-29's nose. Rather than design a new radar, Phazotron reverted to a version of the Sapfir-23ML's twisted-polarization cassegrain antenna and traditional analog signal processors, coupled with a new NII Argon-designed Ts100 digital computer to save time and cost. This produced a working radar system, but inherited the weak points of the earlier design, plaguing the MiG-29's ability to detect and track airborne targets at ranges available with the R-27 and R-77 missiles. The N019 was further compromised by Phazotron designer Adolf Tolkachev's betrayal of the radar to the CIA, for which he was executed in 1986. In response to all of these problems, the Soviets hastily developed a modified N019M Topaz radar for the upgraded MiG-29S aircraft. However, VVS was reportedly still not satisfied with the performance of the system and demanded another upgrade. N019 "Topaz" Radar: Based on the work undertaken by NPO Istok on the experimental Soyuz radar program, Phazotron NIIR were tasked in the mid 70s with producing a modern radar for the MiG-29. Originally intended to have a planar array antenna and digital signal processing, and a range of at least 100km against a fighter target, it soon became clear that this would not be achievable, at least not in a radar that would fit in the MiG-29’s nose. Phazotron NIIR reverted to a version of the twist cassegrain antenna used successfully on the Sapfir-23ML, and analogue signal processor technologies similar to their earlier designs, with a NII Argon- designed Ts100 digital computer. The N019 radar weighs around 385kg in total. It is a pulse-doppler radar operating in X band around 3cm wavelength. It uses three basic operating regimes. High PRF radar mode for optimal detection of closing targets, medium PRF mode for optimal detection of receding targets, and an interleaved high/medium PRF mode for all aspect detection. It uses a guard channel for sidelobe suppression. SARH Illumination and main channels use different frequencies within the X band, and are multiplexed in time. Individual aircraft can be preset on the ground to different frequencies to avoid mutual interference during group operations. Scanning cycle times are 2.5-5 seconds depending on mode. Beam width is 3.5º, which determines the minimum separation of two targets in azimuth. The radar beam is stabilised up to 120º in roll and +40º/-30º in pitch. N019 is a hybrid analogue/digital design, with an NII Argon Ts100 digital processing unit. The Ts100 processor can achieve 170,000 operations per second, has 8K RAM and 136k ROM, and is built using medium scale integration ICs. It is based on the proprietary POISK architecture developed at NII Argon, which allows adapting of the instruction set to control system functions by expanding the basic instruction set with microcodes inherent in specific tasks. Compared to machines using the same elements but a generic instruction set (e.g. the ES EVM architecture Argon-15A of the MiG-31) processing capability was enhanced by 1.5 to 2.5 times and the code 3 to 5 times more compact, making Ts100 much cheaper to produce. The Ts100 computer weighs 32 kg.

The Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-29 Fulcrum jet was built as a reply to the Western world, as an addendom to Kruschev’s famous threat to the west, “We will bury you”. It has proven itself throughout the “cold war” and combat assignments as one of the former Soviet Union’s most advanced fighter jets. In 1979, the United States attempted to gain access to information about the MiG-29 through intelligence-gathering operations, and the use of satellites capable of photographing extremely detailed features from high altitudes. Resting on the underside of the plane are radar warning receiver aerials, and an angle-of-attack vane, for coordinating flight instruments with the outside air pressures. Above its wings, the jet contains a common characteristic in Russian aircraft, numerous antennae, for ADF provisions, IFF functions, VHF reception, and for radar analysis. Besides its radar equipment. including a frontal scanner and conical radome, the Fulcrum includes the use of various examples of weapons technology. Fired from the plane are the R-23-type AA-9 and 10 air-to-air missiles with inertial guidance, as well as the AA-7 radar homing projectile. The perpetrators allegedly went for the extremely valuable, hard-to-obtain components. In 2019, the Hungarian state tried to get rid of the remaining 19 copies, along with 20 engines and around 300 other accessories, at a starting price of 2.8 billion forints.
However, not a single bid was received at the electronic auction, partly because, as a NATO member, the Russian manufacturer would have had to consent to the sale.
According to the Blikk informant, it is not the external perpetrators who cut through the wire fence who are behind what happened, most of the details clearly point to an internal crime.

Az eltulajdonított alkatrészek használhatatlanok, piaci értékük nincsen” – írta a Honvédelmi Minisztérium (HM) arról, hogy betörtek a kecskeméti katonai repülőtérre, és ellopták a MiG–29-es vadászgépek alkatrészeit.
Az MTI-ben megjelent közleményben azt írták, még a július végén történt lopás után, tehát a sajtóhírek előtt belső vizsgálatot és nyomozást indítottak. A HM szerint bűncselekmény a laktanya területén belül, a kerítéshez közel tárolt, feleslegesnek nyilvánított és a hadrendből 2010-ben kivont MiG–29-es repülőgépeket érintette.

Az 1998-as, 1999-es (Fairford) és 2001-es (Cottesmore) bemutatókon első helyezést ért el Vári Gyula a bemutatott repülőprogramjával. Kovács Péter százados, aki 2000-ben a 25-ös UB-val repült a RIAT 2000-en, szintén első helyezést ért el (a hátsó ülésben szintén Váry Gyula ült). A típus még egy ízben, 2003-ban ismét csak Fairfordban megrendezett nagyszabású légibemutatón Szabó „Topi” Zoltán Róbert százados jóvoltából elhódította az első helyezést. Jól látszik, hogy a Magyar légierőben eltöltött 17 év szolgálati idő alatt ez a géptípus 5-ször volt képes csak a RIAT rendezvényein az első helyezést elhódítani modernebb harci repülőgépek elől. Illik megjegyezni, hogy bemutatókon 2007-től kezdődően nem kapcsolhattak utánégetőt a hajózók, mert az orosz nagyjavítás nem lett tökéletes. Vári „Coca” Gyula őrnagy, aki 2001-ben a 22-es B-vel repült, 2002 elején kilépett a Honvédség állományából és politikusi karrierbe kezdett az MSZP színeiben. Szabó „Topi” Zoltán Róbert százados, aki a 2005 májusi baleset után már nem vállalhatott katonai, vadászrepülőgép-pilóta feladatokat, szintén leszerelt. En. text: The MiG-29 has two widely spaced Klimov RD-33 double-flow jet engines, each rated at 50 kilonewtons (11,200 lbf) dry and 81.3 kilonewtons (18,300 lbf) in afterburner. The space between the engines generates lift, thereby reducing effective wing loading, hence improving maneuverability. The engines are fed through intake ramps fitted under the leading-edge extensions (LERXs), which have variable ramps to allow high-Mach speeds. Due to their relatively short combustor, the engines produce noticeably heavier smoke than their contemporaries. As an adaptation to rough-field operations, the main air inlet can be closed completely and the auxiliary air inlet on the upper fuselage can be used for takeoff, landing and low-altitude flying, preventing ingestion of ground debris. Thereby the engines receive air through louvers on the LERXs which open automatically when intakes are closed. Hu. text: A hajtómű tervezésével a Szergej Izotov vezette leningrádi OKB–117 tervezőirodát (ma: Klimov Gépgyár) bízták meg. A hajtómű létrehozásával kapcsolatban egy érdekes esemény adódott. Történt ugyanis, hogy a programban magát biztos befutónak tekintő Tumanszkij tervezőirodával szemben a vadászgépekhez való hajtóművet az ötvenes évek óta nem készítő Klimov megoldását választotta az illetékes állami bizottság. A Tumanszkijék ugyanis a kívánt mérettartományba beleillő, a MiG-21bisz-ekből is ismert R–25–300-as egyáramú hajtóműveket akarták áttervezni kétáramúra, ami túl azon, hogy nem volt életszerű, meg sem valósult a Klimovnál addig csak helikopterhajtóműveket tervező Izotov RD–33-asához képest. Izotov egy teljesen új, szovjet viszonylatban igencsak progresszívnak számító konstrukciót alkotott. Megoldásai annyira előremutatóak voltak, hogy Izotovot személyesen felkereste az akkor már akadémikusi tekintélynek örvendő idős Arhip Ljulka, hogy segítsen a csapatának megoldani a vibrációs problémákat a legújabb hajtóművükön az AL–31F-en. Ljulka nem magához kérette a csupán csak mérnök Izotovot, hanem elküldte hozzá Leningrádba hat emberét, hogy nála szerezzenek ismereteket. Csakhogy a szovjet ipar nem volt felkészülve egy új, nagy fajlagos tolóerejű, ám alacsony fajlagos fogyasztású, modern kétáramú gázturbinás sugárhajtómű előállítására. A kívánt paraméterek fenntartása az élettartam rovására ment. Kezdetben az első komolyabb problémák egy konstrukciós hibából eredtek. A csapatpróbát végző állomány pilótái sorozatos rosszullétre panaszkodtak, ami közel ájulási helyzeteket is eredményezett. Elterjedt, hogy e repülőgép "mérgező". Ennek a problémának a feltárásán maga Izotov is részt vett és csakhamar rájöttek, hogy a kabin kondicionáló rendszerébe a hajtómű kompresszorából elvezetett megcsapolt levegő a hőtől párolgó olajjal keveredik, amelynek toxikus hatása vezetett a levegőbeni rosszullétekhez. Később más problémákra is fény derült. The VF-84 was a USN F-14 Tomcat squadron known as the "Jolly Rogers" AJ201, USS Nimitz US Navy Fighter Squadron 84 that was Operated the F-14 Tomcat from 1976 until their disestablishment in October 1, 1995. after serving in the Navy for 40 years. It's name and traditions were adopted by VF-103, which subsequently became VFA-103 and transitioned from the F-14 to the Strike Fighter Squadron F/A-18F Super Hornet.
Pirate flag at the Åland Maritime Museum, one of two pirate flags that are considered authentic. The flag is about 200 years old and came to Åland from the North African Mediterranean coast, where piracy occurred right into the 19th century. It is made of cotton and was once dark brown. Now it is faded by the ravages of time, weather and wind. This photo has been color corrected by user Blockhaj to try to show the flag as it originally appeared.
